About Me

Welcome to my webpage! I am currently a Junior at University of Houston majoring Bachelors of Science in Computer Information System. Feel free to browse my webpage and if you have any comments or questions, please refer to Contact tab to reach me. .

I was born in Seoul, South Korea in an US military base located at Yongsan. I was fortunate to grow up in a world where I can learn both of my American and Korean culture. I was five years old when I was first introduced to golf and that's when I first fell in love with the sport. I grew up playing golf all my childhood and my friends will always call me the next Seri Park who was one of the few best players in the world representing South Korea. I dedicated my life to golf hoping to become a professional golfer one day. At the age of 15, my parents decided to move to America to further pursue my golf career and my older sister's education. As soon as I came to America, I have competed in many junior golf tournaments have succeeded in gaining victory in many competitions.

I had the opportunity to play Division I Golf at University of Missouri at Kansas City (2012-2013). My time and experience at UMKC has been amazing and something that I will never forget. During my freshmen year at UMKC, I fell ill and had to have surgery called thyroidectomy. Thyroidectomy has stopped me from continuing golf. I decided to come back home to Texas and restore my health.

Due to my health, I had a lot of time being at home. While trying to kill some time, I started to pick up computer pieces and eventually built my own computers. I was fascinated how easy and how fun it was to build your personal computer and decided that I wanted to pursue in computer related field. While browsing different majors in many different university, I came across the degree program Computer Information Systems and decided that was the program I wanted to pursue. And that's where my new chapter of my life began.

"What I the most about computer is that it always develops and will always have new things to learn about computers"

After spending endless hours on computers, I eventually got into PC gaming. I didn't care about gaming that much but I learned that eSports was a thing. I just couldn't believe how our generation is now considering PC gaming as a sport and can be played competitively! I've wanted to be the best gamer out there. The more I played, the more people noticed me. They will call me SANDIE . The online will know me by that name and it's funny how I'm used to that name that I have asked my co-workers at Starbucks to call me by Sandie and not Sandra. After gaming for a while, I grew curious in computer programming. I took some introductory class in Java. Java is definitely a 'love and hate' relationship. It feels so great when you get the code running but it's so dissatisfying when it does not. (I still love you, Java... sometimes) I am currently taking classes in System Analysis and Design, Java class, Internet Application Development, and Information Systems and Infrastructure and Networks. I have the best professors for each classes and I'm very excited to learn more about Computers. Refer to my Projects tabs or CIS classes tabs to see my work progress!
